Annual Ethics Training

This is a reminder to all that the Duke Clinical Research Unit (DCRU) will hold its annual course, “The Responsible Conduct of Research” in spring 2008.  The course is being directed by Dr. Zeljko Vujaskovic and Dr. Wajeeh Bajwa, Associate Directors of the DCRU.  The five-session course can be used to meet the T32 requirement for training in the responsible conduct of research.  That requirement is detailed at the following T32 web site: http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/pa-files/PA-00-103.html
The relevant regulation from this web site is pasted at the end of this email.

Please note the change:
Registration + serving of coffee and refreshments will take place few minutes before 7 am at Duke South Clinic (on Trent Drive) at DCRU, 2nd Floor, Blue Zone, in #2552.  From there, participants will go to the 4th Floor, Green Zone, where they will be divided into four separate groups for their classes.

Case Study Sessions
  • Tuesday, March 4, 2008 @ 7:00am - 8:30am
  • Tuesday, March 18, 2008 @ 7:00am - 8:30am
  • Tuesday, March 25, 2008 @ 7:00am - 8:30am
  • Tuesday, April 1, 2008 @ 7:00am - 8:30am
  • Tuesday, April 8, 2008 @ 7:00am - 8:30am

Participants should attend all five case study sessions and be on time.  They will be asked to sign a form documenting attendance at each session.  Each attendee will receive a certificate documenting attendance at each session, as appropriate.  A copy of this certificate will be provided to training program directors.  If a session is missed the training program director can devise make-up material to cover the subject matter from that paticular session.

Although registeration is not required, it would be useful for our planning to know who is going to participate in this course.  Please respond via e-mail with the number (and names, if available) of participants who will attend from your group (send to DCRU@mc.duke.edu with a subject line of Ethics Course).
